54-Hour Pharmacology Course (BVNPT-Compliant – Method 3 Pathway)

The 54-Hour Pharmacology Course offered by Nina Nurses Continuing Education is designed to meet the educational requirements established by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) for applicants pursuing licensure through the Method 3 (Equivalent Education and/or Experience) pathway.

This course provides the required 54 hours of pharmacology instruction necessary for Method 3 eligibility and is structured to ensure compliance with BVNPT standards for content, documentation, and instructional delivery.

Course Content Includes:

  • Principles of pharmacology and medication administration

  • Drug classifications and therapeutic effects

  • Dosage calculations and medication safety

  • Routes of administration and nursing considerations

  • Legal and ethical responsibilities in medication administration

  • The nursing process related to pharmacological care

Instruction is aligned with current NCLEX-PN test plan standards and prepares students for safe and effective medication administration in clinical practice.

Method 3 Application & Documentation Support:

As part of this course, students receive guided assistance with BVNPT Method 3 requirements, including:

  • Completion and review of BVNPT application forms

  • Guidance on Record of Nursing Experience (work verification forms)

  • Step-by-step instructions for documenting clinical experience

  • Support with submission requirements and timelines

Certificate of Completion:
